Variations
Friday, 09 October 2026 Sheffield Cathedral Welcome to the 2026/2027 season of The Brigantes Orchestra! Step into a musical time machine and explore how great composers have shaped the sounds we hear today. Each concert in our new season begins in a different year, then travels across the centuries to reveal how familiar ideas - beautiful melodies, vivid storytelling, nature, memory and national character - have been reimagined again and again. Why not guarantee your seat at every concert and save 20% on the whole lot by buying a season ticket here! Our journey begins in 1792 with Haydn's famous Surprise Symphony and a musical idea everyone can follow: take a tune and transform it! Four composers show how the same principal of variation can sound witty, lyrical, virtuosic or brilliantly modern. We're thrilled to welcome back Tim Horton after his wonderful performance of Grieg last season! |
