This year we're taking you on a musical journey through time. Every concert shows how composers in different eras looked and and responded to the same ideas, or how they have developed over time.

Arvo Pärt's haunting tribute to Benjamin Britten takes us to 1977 and opens a programme shaped by reflection and remembrance. Britten, Shostakovich and Vaughan Williams offer very different responses to conflict - sometimes questioning, sometimes hopeful - showing how composers use music to process the world around them.
