WHAT'S NEW WITH
Things are looking up... The sun is out and there is at last a possibility to perform again in October. We're kicking off our new season with Mozart, Rameau and Schubert, including music from Les Indes galantes - a story of love in exotic climes... Peru, the Ottoman Empire and Persia. Mozart's wholly original Symphony No. 40 and the Symphony No. 5 by Schubert, his loveliest, sunniest symphony, mark a joyous return to Sheffield Cathedral!
Support from the Kurt Weill Foundation
New York, US
We are very excited to have received financial support from the Kurt Weill Foundation for our performance of Weill's Symphonic Nocturne in our Jazz Origins programme at the Sheffield City Hall in June 2022! Also on the programme is Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with pianist Christopher Devine, as well as a rare performance of William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony No. 1.
We hope you are well and have not been too affected by the pandemic. We wanted you to know we are still alive and well, and are taking some first steps to rearrange our upcoming concert season. It won’t be quite the same, but great music will be coming your way soon...
